Vinitaly Special Edition, three days of business for the wine world

The spotlight is being turned back on Vinitaly.

While the fair in its traditional version will return only in spring 2022 (development of the pandemic situation permitting), a “Special Edition” has been set for October 17-19 at Veronafiere.

The goal is “to accelerate the recovery of the sector in the main target markets and to take stock of the future of Italian wine also in the light of new purchasing and consumption trends”with a special (if not exclusive) focus on business and operators: 35 nations are expected in Verona.
400 Italian companies are expected. Then in spring there will be the “classic” Vinitaly, number 54.

Vinitaly Special Edition in Verona is an opportunity for Cantina Terzini to best enshrine the restart. Sales Director Roberto Terzini is there in person to renew his commitment, completely espousing Vinitaly’s innovative format.

The event is exclusively professional and by invitation only, with a strong focus on internationality, thanks to incoming from the main target countries. Terzini Farm presents the business and projects in the pipeline.

The Special Edition brings together all the major players in the sector and allows you to discover the entire scenario of the Italian wine market in a single experience.

Vinitaly Special Edition features the best of Italian production, new products and trends. It is an opportunity to discover, taste and evaluate all the offerings, asking direct and detailed questions to producers, meet distributors, stakeholders and institutions.

What the Special Edition of Vinitaly will look like: the four pillars

The Special Edition of Vinitaly will rest on four pillars: security, B2B, internationality, networking.

  • First of all, the event will take place in attendance at the Veronafiere exhibition center: a delimited, controlled and safe space thanks to the safety business prevention protocol validated by the Technical Scientific Committee and Aefi, the reference association of Italian trade fairs. The goal is to occupy in terms of exhibition between 30 and 35 thousand square meters out of the 150 thousand square meters available.

  • The event will aim for people to “rediscover the importance of human relationships in business.” And also in this direction, Veronafiere thought of creating a synergy with ArtVerona, an exhibition on contemporary art on stage until Oct. 17, to bring galleries and art collectors closer to the world of wine, related and converging to them.
  • Another cornerstone of Vinitaly’s Special Edition is the exclusively professional characterization of the event, with entrance reserved for industry professionals. And while the focus will be directed primarily on the Italian market, equally important will be the efforts developed in terms of incoming buyers from abroad, with the collaboration of Ice.
  • The Special Edition of Vinitaly will also see the concurrent staging of the wine2wine Business Forum, scheduled for Oct. 18 and 19. An event within the event, because opening the proceedings will be the “General States of Wine 2021”: a conference with the participation of 50 top managers of the sector, institutions and representatives of the European Union who will discuss the current scenario and future prospects.

And increasingly, Veronafiere’s horizon aims to be internationalization, as Mantovani stressed again on the current proceeding:

“We are already operating internationally with the various Vinitaly stages around the world. And in June we will debut Wine to Asia, the first fair of an Italian operator in China, with the presence not only of Italian brands, but also of major world producers.”

In line with government regulations, to enter the district during the course of the fair, it will be necessary to be in possession of a green pass. At the fairgrounds and among the stands, the watchword is and will be safety, in full compliance with the provisions set forth in the protocol drawn up by Aefi (Association of Italian Exhibitions and Fairs) adopted by all fair entities and further supplemented and strengthened.
